Why our lead time begins even before the order is placed

In an industry characterised by precision, repeatability and increasingly automated processes, this may seem unusual at first glance. For us, however, it is a deliberate part of our approach to quality. Although modern machines handle the majority of the manufacturing process, there are still steps that require experience, attention to detail and individual judgement. At the same time, the manual inspection of every single tube reveals something else: behind every capillary and precision tube lie not only machines and manufacturing processes, but also people.

Predictability as the foundation of production

To ensure we can offer our customers reliable delivery dates, we group production by material into what we call ‘material campaigns’. Titanium, stainless steel and nickel alloys are each processed within a fixed production period before the next material campaign begins. This approach ensures stable production conditions. Processes and testing procedures remain tailored to the respective material properties. At the same time, production capacities can be allocated at an early stage and production slots reserved in the long term. This provides planning certainty. Those who know their requirements early on can take production dates into account in a targeted manner and reduce stock levels without compromising on security of supply.

Quality is not just a matter of manufacturing

At ETHEN Rohre, the actual production time encompasses far more than simply machining the material. It also includes all the inspection and testing steps required to meet the high standards demanded of capillary and precision tubes. This includes a manual quality inspection of every single tube as the final stage of our manufacturing process.

Short lead times start with the right preparation

Short lead times do not begin only when an order is received. They start as early as the bundling of materials, the allocation of production capacity and the early coordination of all resources. Thanks to this structured approach, we are usually able to deliver within an ongoing material campaign approximately one week after receipt of the order. For our customers, this means a manufacturing process focused on quality, predictability and reliability, from the initial preparation right through to the final quality inspection of every single tube.
